Level Infinite and Hotta Studio’s new open world RPG, Tower of Fantasycoming to the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and PC internationally on August 10.
The game can also be pre-loaded the day before launch (August 9), and has already secured over three million pre-registrations on the official website at the time of writing, and the number is set to increase.
Set in the distant future on a post-apocalyptic sci-fi planet called Aida, where humanity has settled after fleeing its dying world, the game is among several anime-styled gacha titles that have gained interest online.
Players in Tower of Fantasy take on the role of Wanderer, an amnesiac Hagarde Enforcer who can choose between male and female forms at the start of the game.
Through what appears to be exciting battles and shared open-world exploration, Tower of Fantasy combines anime-inspired post-apocalyptic sci-fi art style with freeform character development.
Exploring the open world can also be done by driving motorcycles and other vehicles, including flying devices such as jetpacks.
Aside from climbing, sliding, and swimming, characters can perform additional physics-based actions.
The characters will also be fully customizable, and a gacha system will allow players to obtain pre-designed playable characters known as simulacra.
The aesthetic, character design and exploration of Tower of Fantasy has led to some comparisons to HoYoverse Genshin influence and its upcoming roguelike ARPG Zenless Zone Zero.
However, there are some significant differences between the two gacha games.
First, the gacha system is in Tower of Fantasy is more about collecting weapons than characters.
Second, the characters associated with these weapons have storylines, but generally they’re just AI replicas of famous fighters that act as optional skins for your main character.
In combat, the character’s powers are determined by the load of three weapons, which is faster than Genshin’s party-based, elemental approach.
There are also plans for a “shared world” RPG in Tower of Fantasy and large-scale world boss battles that will involve hundreds of participants.
Players can still pre-register until the August 10th launch to earn some rewards like free resources, cosmetics and more.
Visit their website or add the game to your Steam or Epic Games wishlist to find out more.
