Jayde Adams says she is living her “dream” as she becomes the latest celebrity to sign up for OLD

Strictly Come Dancing slowly announcing the 2022 series.

In September, the BBC series returns for its 20th anniversary series presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

The first announcements were made on August 4, with more names being revealed each day for the following week.

Who is involved strictly speaking 2022?

Actor Will Mellor was named the first participant of the year. He is best known for his roles in Two pints of lager and a pack of crisps and Broadchurch.

Mellor’s other credits include Hollyoaks, Line of Duty and lastly, ITV soap Coronation Streetin which he played Harvey Gaskell.

Speaking about his entry, Mellor said: “I’m honestly so excited to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year! Not going to lie, it’s completely out of my comfort zone and I know it’s going to be a big challenge, but that’s what life is all about.

“This is also my mum’s favorite show and she’s had some really tough years so I’m doing this for her too. Bring it!”

The other celebrity named was an actress and former singer Kym Marsh.

Marsh rose to fame as a member of pop band Hear’Say after winning the ITV talent show Pop stars in 2001. However, she continued with an acting career and was cast as Michelle Connor in Coronation Street.

Speaking about her appointment, Marsh said: “I have considered doing it strictly speaking for years, but the timings never worked. I’m so glad they have it this year!

“I’m a huge fan of the show and can’t believe I’m going to go from watching at home in my pajamas to actually dancing in front of the judges in a sparkly dress, it’s unreal!”

The third celebrity announced was a radio DJ and presenter Richie Andersonwho will participate in the show’s second all-male partnership.

Anderson, who presents travel bulletins on BBC Radio 2’s breakfast show, and is a regular host The One Show, said: “This is a dream come true! I can’t wait to bring in the sparkles and sequins and shimmy across the most famous dance floor in the world! Strictly is the ultimate feel good show, as soon as I hear the iconic theme tune it’s just pure escapism.

“I have to interrupt my legendary strictly speaking launching evening kitchen party that I host every year, I’m sure friends and family will understand. It’s also a huge honor to be part of an all-male dance partnership, it’s so important that we have that inclusion on such a big show.”

Celebrity number four is Loose women host Kaye Adamswho admitted on Friday’s edition of the show (August 5) that she is “scared” for the weeks ahead.

She told the BBC: “I said I wanted to make the last year of my fifties memorable and I can’t think of a better way to do that than to show the world my two left feet. Pray for me!”

On Saturday (August 6), a comedian came and Alma is not normal star Jayde Adams was named the fifth celebrity to compete on the show.

Can be viewed on strictly speaking has long been Adams’ dream, as she told the BBC: “Since I saw the first series in 2004, I feel like every step I’ve taken in my career over the last 11 years was to be on strictly speaking. I cannot begin to express the emotions I feel, this means so much to me and my family.”

This year’s series of strictly speaking will be the BBC competition’s 20th running. The last series, which ended in December 2021, was won by EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis.

Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to the BBC on September 10.
